Drawing Foundations with the Visual Art Institute

Learn to draw in this beginner-friendly class with the Visual Art Institute!

In this foundational drawing class, we will adopt a 3-step process called "Look, Analyze, Execute". Art concepts such as line, shape, space, value, contrast, texture, and edge will be examined for the essential part each plays in increasing our art skill set. Practice of mark making and edge manipulation will be demonstrated through a tonal approach to drawing. Finally composition will be explored based on sound practice of using contrast to enhance the focal point. Learning how to organize values will produce strong graphic finishes. Various subject matters will be used as reference.

This class is is perfect for beginners!
